How do you stay on track with your digital product?

Just like a racing car pausing during a pit stop to refuel, change tires, and check systems, it's wise for digital products to take a break now and then. Not because things aren't going well, but to ensure you continue to perform optimally. How do you make sure your product stays on track even after launch? For Huisman, we organized a strategic pit stop - a workshop where we took stock, refined the roadmap, and discovered new opportunities.

The Strategic Pitstop: How Huisman Stays on Course with Their New Client Portal

In our workshop with Huisman, one key question was central: How do we ensure that the new client portal is not only well-designed but also remains on course? To clarify this, we revisited the goals we had previously defined. What did we want to achieve? What insights had we gathered during our discovery phase back then? And most importantly, how do the designed functionalities connect these goals with user needs?

The functionalities we have designed are the bridge between goals and users. They not only form the solutions that contribute to the established goals but also support the daily processes of the users. During the workshop, we examined how effective these solutions were. Where can we refine, optimize, or expand?

Measuring for Insight

One of the most valuable parts of the workshop was evaluating the KPIs. What are we already measuring? What else can we chart? Together with Huisman, we scrutinized the established KPIs. We adjusted, refined, and created new KPIs to better track whether the functionalities contribute to the set goals.

We also looked at the functionalities that were still open on the roadmap. By directly linking these to the goals, it became clear which components are crucial for achieving the goals. This way, we were able to refine the roadmap together and prioritize certain functionalities. This way, Huisman's new client portal is not only better monitored but also more strategically developed.

Looking Forward: What is the Next Step?

The strength of a strategic pitstop is that you not only look back but also forward. Have new goals emerged? What are the latest insights regarding end-user needs? And can we devise more solutions that align with user desires and contribute to achieving the established goals?

During the workshop, the first new ideas came to light. Interesting sparks for future brainstorming, new KPIs to monitor, and additional functionalities to add to the roadmap. This ensures that Huisman stays on course, not just today, but also tomorrow.
