Digitally transform a global container business

Samskip

Understand the business, reduce complexity

Order management in container transport is a highly complex world with a lot at stake. We stayed close to stakeholders, technology, and users with a strong research phase. Conducting many one-on-one interviews, field studies and contextual inquiries. By getting to know the user and business challenges by heart, we designed the best solutions.

Speed, overview and efficiency

Research showed many layers of complexity, which we were able to transform into a one-page application. Enabling users to reach any level of detail without losing context. Combining the design principles of 'progressive disclosure' and 'master-detail'. By figuring out how to design this flexible framework, we figured out how to create a scalable UX.

Adding value to digital containers

This new and unique digital platform allows Samskip to work more productive and efficient. It supports an intuitive way of working for both internal users as their customers with a powerful overview of the order process. The product improves the collaboration between departments. It even saves time training new staff since the platform supports a shorter learning curve.

Cleaning up the online journey

Samskip as a company is evolving. Their websites needed to reflect these innovative changes. We created a new website to unify over five different websites and the various related brands. It was essential to strengthen the identity of Samskip and to support their goals. The website is now a solid first step in the customer journey.

Stronger for the future

The new platform and website increased trust and loyalty among customers. The refreshed and broadened corporate identity strengthened branding and prepared Samskip for the years to come. Combined with the platform's improved productivity, the digital transformation resulted in a significant lead on their competition.
At Okapion they said: It’s not about people that have to work with the system, but that they want to.
